Parent Recommendations
Golf lessons at Coosa Country Club
Soccer at the YMCA has been great. Gymnastics at the REC is great.
The YMCA/ Arsenal program was terrible. Poorly organized and poor coaching. We found SSA North Georgia and have loved how much our kids have learned there.
We have had postive experiences with the Cartersville Gymnastics Center and Stingrays in Cartersville.
Challenger baseball was a cluster. Horrible communication & planning. Teach me Tennis was a good experience & my child will be doing that again. They emailed all parents every evening with photos & descriptions of what the kids did that day along with exercises to do at home. The tournament was well organized, especially considering they had all the elementary schools there representing.
Preschool soccer with Coach Chase (lil gunners came TO our preschool and it was perfect for an intro to organized sports!) Chase was great with the kids and it was a quick and easy first sport! T-ball through the rec department was fun; parent-led coaching but a great intro to baseball – such a fun environment during game nights with the community out to watch the kids!
Swimming lessons at Rome High (Three Rivers Swimmers). Well worth it.
My son tried gymnastics/tumbling at the RFPRA a couple years ago. I did not feel welcomed there. My son recently started Tae Kwon Do at Roman Martial Arts. I have been very impressed so far and am looking forward to seeing what the future brings through this training.
Soccer with SSA we have LOVED it there. Recently moved my daughter to arsenal because there aren’t enough girls at SSA but my son will stay at SSA
Hot Shots for young tumbling/gymnastics and Gymnastics Center. We have been happy with both places.
Hot Shots Cheerleading Center- Nothing with the Rec department is ever worth it in my opinion.
We tried RFPA but didnt like the lack of organization.
Swimming/swim team – great experience with Coach Coville.
Love hot shots!!!!
Soccer best from the Y.
We’ve done 2 seasons of soccer with SSA (they play at the fields across from AHS) and we’ll do that again this fall. Just fun, not competitive. We’ve done Upwards basketball at Dykes Creek Baptist and really enjoyed it too. It was a really good group! Most recently we played Tball through the rec. It was a little disorganized and pretty rushed to begin with (games started after only 1 practice and a month before the website said they would start). But we’ll do it again, our son loved it!
Cobblestone crossing for horse lessons. They are so careful and are so safe with kids! Very sweet people also!
My son recently started Tae Kwon Do at Roman Martial Arts. I have been very impressed so far and am looking forward to seeing what the future brings through this training.
We did swim lessons at the Y several times over the years. The lessons were inconsistent. Sometimes they were great, other times not so much. This year we are looking forward to a week of swim lessons with Linda Orr. I have heard good things about her.
