We’ll get your heart pumpin’!

Join the national “First Day Hikes” movement and start 2019 with a healthy hike. Dozens of ranger-led treks at parks across Georgia encourage friends and families to connect with nature and each other. First Day Hikes are part of a nationwide initiative from America’s State Parks, with hundreds of hikes scheduled in all 50 states.

Hikes starting at 9am and 2pm

Start your New Year off right with a ranger-led hike (2 miles) to the Marble Mine. This hike is moderate in difficulty. Please meet at Park Office at 9 a.m. for the morning hike or 2 p.m for the afternoon hike. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.

Rocky Mountain Recreation Area in Rome
Hike from 9am to 11am

Join our Ranger for your first hike of the year! Dress for the weather, bring a snack and water to drink along the way. This will be a 3 mile hike. $5 parking fee per vehicle, no fee for the event. Call 706-802-5087 for more information.
