Activity-Based Camps

YMCA Kindercamp
Ages 3-5
$57/member, $75/non-member
Monday-Friday all summer weeks, holidays weeks prorated.
8:30am-12:15pm
Designed especially for the younger child. Your child will enjoy a full day of adventure at the YMCA. A limited number of half day spaces (8:30am-12:15PM) are available. Swim lessons in the YMCA pool include water safety & the basics of swimming. Other activities include arts & crafts, supervised play time, & field trips.

YMCA Camp Bryant is the home for campers during the day. Includes pavilion, restroom building, an archery range, playing fields, and nature trails. We also have daily free swim in the YMCA pool.

Parks and Rec: Camp Anthony
Ages 4-13

Weekly sessions, May 30-July 28th; 7:30am-6:00pm
Each week of Camp Anthony follows a schedule of fun, structured activities including games, contests, swimming, and a weekly trip. Camp provides breakfast and lunch through the Federal Food Program. Register for all summer or pick and choose your weeks. 
If your child wants to bring his/her lunch, please label the bag. We are a high energy camp and kids need a morning snack and a lunch that will see them through to afternoon snack, which we provide. Fee includes:  Federal Food Program for June 1 through July 24th, all field trips, 1 swim session per week, 1 t-shirt.

Parks and Rec: Kid Vs Wild Camp

This camp is an exciting week in the great outdoors with activities including: archery, fishing, nature crafts, wildlife identification, SWAT, outdoor fire safety, and much more. 

Parks and Rec: Camp Goodtimes!

Camp Goodtimes is a three-week summer day camp program for developmentally challenged youth.  Fun activities will include: swimming, bowling, crafts, field trips and more. It’s the highlight of summer!

Parks and Rec: Princess Camp

It’s princess time! Dance, music, dress up, tea parties, stories, crafts and more! Activities are based on popular fairy tale princesses; campers are encouraged to dress up each day. Campers will be divided into age groups upon arrival. A light snack will be provided for your camper each day. At Thornton Center.

Parks and Rec: Nerf + Lego Camp

Campers will enjoy using their imaginations building LEGO creations and releasing their energy in Nerf Wars while building teamwork and communication skills with organized LEGO builds, free play, crafts, Nerf games and more! A light snack will be provided each day. At Thornton Center.

Camp Evergreen is a non-profit Christian camp run by Toby and Katie Grady for over ten years. Our camp never has more than 100 campers at once, so every person can feel known and loved. We offer all the activities you would expect of a classic summer camp: archery, canoeing, marksmanship, horseback riding, swimming, hiking, crafts, etc. We also offer top notch programs run by handpicked college students who have been extensively trained. We offer 4-day, 6-day, 10-day, and 14-day overnight camps, in addition to day camps and family weekends.

Kids Pottery Camp

Pottery Camp will allow young artists to explore clay in a variety of ways including sculptural pottery, handbuilding, decorating clay and slab work. Students will try their hand at the pottery wheel, glazing, carving, handle making and more!  Cost includes all supplies, firings and a snack.  Students will be contacted after the completion of the camp to pick up their finished fired pieces.

The Stitchery Kids Summer Sew Camp
Ages 9-Teen

Choose 1 class or enroll in 3 and get the 4th FREE!  The kids (aged 9-teen) will learn all types of sewing including craft, quilt, apparel & gift.  Projects include stuffed teddy bear, skirt (or shorts for boys), beach tote and a quilt block pillow.  Per day price includes everything for class projects except machine (they can borrow our classroom machine if they don’t have one at home). Basic sewing supplies are required (thread, seam ripper, small sharp point thread scissors, hand sewing needle, small ruler, pins & pincushion).

Creative Writing camp is for any youngster who loves to use their imagination, read, tell stories, or draw and paint! Each day will consist of a children’s book read-aloud, imaginative games inspired by stories, and creative time for each child to write and illustrate their own stories! By the end of the week each camper will bring home their own original illustrated book.

Drums, Drums, Drums is the theme for this summer as we explore drum music from around the world. We’ll explore rhythm patterns using drums and other percussion instruments, while sharpening your child’s listening skills. Activities include singing songs, instrument play, dramatic play, moving to music, stories, crafts and snacks. Materials (included in price) home CD and a music magazine.

Kindermusik: Journeys

Explore the ukulele and piano! No experience necessary for either instrument. Ukuleles will be provided. Piano instruction is in the Clavinova lab with pianos for each child. This class will include ensemble time, snack and a performance at the end of the week! Students who plan to participate in Beyond Kindermusik next fall are encouraged to take this class.This class will meet in the Ford Complex!

Jump into the fun of cheerleading this summer! Learn tons of new cheers, perform age-appropriate stunts, improve technique, and build your repertoire of moves and formations. Each day of camp has a unique outfit theme. To conclude the week, campers will show off their talents as they put on a pep rally for parents and friends in Darlington’s Johnson Field House.

Arsenal Soccer Half Day Summer Camps seek to teach fundamental skills to the new player and build on skills already learned in our Leagues to the returning player. All Sports Camp is one of our most exciting, fun-filled weeks of camp. Kids will have a blast playing several sports, learning the values of sportsmanship and team-building activities. Meet at Thornton Center and campers will be transported to daily activity locations.
