Winter Wonderland and Ice Festival @ Forum River Center

The Rome Winter Wonderland Carnival & Ice Festival is intended to celebrate “The Season of Peace” by providing a platform for various social, religious, ethnic, and cultural groups of Rome and Floyd County to share how they embrace this festive time of year. This two-day event will include educational and art exhibitions, food vendors, musical and theatrical entertainment, vendor goods, crafts, and overall genial fellowship. It is our belief that the opportunity to share and experience each other’s most sacred traditions, can only broaden our horizons and promote better understanding among our neighbors.

The Rome Winter Wonderland Carnival and Ice Festival will be held Saturday, November 23rd and Sunday, November 24th at the Forum River Center in downtown Rome, GA This event is FREE and open to the public. The festival will run alongside The Forum River Center’s “Forum on Ice” event featuring indoor ice skating (separate ice skating fees will apply).

In addition to the vendors and exhibition, the festival will include a seasonal theme event each evening of the festival!

With help from your parents and our Store Associates, you can paint your creation to make it truly unique. Don’t forget to add stickers for a final special touch. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. Passengers will be transported to “Santa’s Workshop” in Trion to pick up Santa inside an enclosed, climate controlled train car on the festively decorated Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum Passenger Train and hosted by Santa’s elves. While on board, families will enjoy Christmas caroling, storytelling of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”, light refreshments, and of course, visit with Santa. Every child will receive a special memento, and those young and young at heart, will spend special time with the North Pole’s jolliest elf himself, Santa, as he walks through each train car visiting and posing with the kids for photos. Tickets may be purchased for ages over 2 and up at the cost of $19 at Summerville City Hall. Under age 2 are free.

Participate in Design-Build Challenges with The Children’s School

Become your own engineering superhero and solve a real world problem with The Children’s School. Check out student solutions to twelve different design challenges, and get inspired to design your own unique innovations using K’Nex. From fighting forest fires in California to maintaining sterile surgical supplies, you’ll have an opportunity to design for the greater good.

Be sure to also join us on the hour from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for brief tours of Design for Good: Architecture for Everyone given by students from The Children’s School. Each curated tour experience will highlight the projects in the exhibition that the student’s find most inspiring.
